William Waller
Growing up in South eastern Pennsylvania, I was always surrounded by stone work, new and very very old. At 19 I moved across the country to Prescott, Arizona where I would meet Alyssa, my wife and mother of our first son. While living in Arizona I took a seasonal position with the local trail crew building stone walls and staircases. It was that summer that my passion for stone work was realized.
In the Fall of 2012 we moved across the country again to Asheville. The following Spring I responded to an ad, and was invited to try out for a position at Living Stone Masonry. For the 6 years to follow Asheville became home. I worked and learned the trade from Franklin Smith, Josh Rigel, and so many others during that time. In the Summer of 2018 we moved across the country yet again, this time to the Pacific Northwest to be closer to an aging family member. We lived in the Northwest for close to 3 years. I gained employment from local mason Pete Wilson, where I continued to broaden my landscape construction experience.
Our first son Thomas was born in January of 2021. Shortly after, Alyssa and I took a good look around us and decided it was time to go home. With a 5 month old, and two old cats on board, we loaded up the car and began the long journey. We are happy to be home, to raise our family in Western North Carolina, and to continue the Living Stone Masonry legacy.
